HMAC digests are the simplest method, and JSON Web Token is a good feature rich alternative, because it allows the transport of access ticket information in a stateless and not alterable way. Cheating is wrong. However, there's a bright side to everything. After all, making a cheat-sheet is essentially the same as making study notes, and once you've made the notes, you're already more than halfway there; that's a commonly known school tip and trick. Moreover, it requires a lot of creativity that is often more useful in life than the actual subject you are cheating in, to ace all the test answers. Famously, someone once got a bright idea to replace the posters in my French classroom with the verb conjugations for that day's test. While certainly less altruistic, my claim to fame was learning how to read Braille markings, so that I could write out math and chemistry formulas on my desk in an incomprehensible manner. School hacks were aplenty when I was a kid.
In honor of the brilliant delinquents such as myself, we at Bored Panda have compiled this list of those who hacked how to cheat on a test that maybe, just maybe, deserve a good grade for their ingenuity. The large-scale cheating was observed in written assignment submission as well as descriptive tests. Proctored environment or use of plagiarism software did not restrict the students from using unfair means. Proctored software was dodged by using sticky note on the laptop screen. Students used Google search options and Google lens to look for answers and pass it to peers using instant messaging systems. For example, one of the faculty members in a business school shared:
There were limitations to the study. The sample comprised of leaners and educators of engineering and management school and hence may not be generalizable. Secondly, participants were recruited with voluntary participation and self-administered interview schedule which may lead to some bias. The scope can be broadened to encompass various streams and levels of educations in multi-cultural contexts in the future. Sample size though small was based on agreed satisfaction of theoretical saturation among the researchers about the interview responses. An interesting study would be on how the teaching and learning adopted to scientific experimentation in the online medium during the pandemic would have been interesting. The study was based on convenience sampling during a time when educational institutes had only partially opened for offline teaching. The study can form the base for a broader study on feasibility of implementing hybrid of learning in education.
PBKDF2 is part of RSA Laboratories' Public-Key Cryptography Standards (PKCS) series, specifically PKCS #5 v2.0, also published as Internet Engineering Task Force's RFC 2898. It supersedes PBKDF1, which could only produce derived keys up to 160 bits long.[2] RFC 8018 (PKCS #5 v2.1), published in 2017, recommends PBKDF2 for password hashing.[3]
As about problem A, one of our state teams got AC with Aho-Corasick algorithm (offline!). We checked their solution and found that it's very unlikely to be true, so it seems that tests are not weak just about missed TLEs.
